Match Report
On 13th October 2016, Lanesboro Community College’s senior team faced Columba College Killucan in a match at Killucan GAA grounds. Kick-off was at 11 a.m. The sun was in Killucan’s eyes for the first half and the wind was at Lanesboro’s back.
Both teams had strong starting line-ups, and the pitch was in good playing condition. Lanesboro took an early lead with an excellent display of skill by Michael O’Donnell.
However, in the second half Killucan made a recovery, scoring 5 goals in a commendable attempt to take back the match. However, Lanesboro resolutely held its own against Killucan’s physical style of play.
The match ended in a victory for Lanesboro with the final score being 5-14 to 5-5. We wish our team the best of luck as they proceed in the competition and thank their coaches Mr. O’Brien and Mr. O’Dwyer for all the work they put in preparing the team.
