The Junior Certificate School Programme (JCSP) is a national education intervention in Ireland aimed at students at risk of leaving school early or who need extra support. It is an adaptation of the traditional Junior Cycle curriculum rather than an alternative to it, aiming to make learning more accessible, engaging, and successful for students.

Lanesboro Community College is a co-educational, second level school. Students study a wide range of subjects at higher, ordinary and foundation levels. The Junior Certificate Examination is taken after three years and the Leaving Certificate Examination after six years as LCC have a mandatory Transition Year.
