Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),
A very warm welcome to you and your child as you begin this exciting new journey at Lanesborough Community College. As Chairperson of the Parents’ Council, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce our work and invite you to get involved.
The Parents’ Council plays an important role in supporting the school, representing the voice of parents, and working in partnership with staff and students to enhance the learning environment. We aim to help build a strong, inclusive school community where every child can thrive.
What We Do:
Support School Events: We assist with events such as open days, parent information evenings, and student celebrations.
Fundraising: We help raise funds for resources, school equipment, and student initiatives that benefit all pupils.
Communication: We serve as a link between parents and the school, bringing forward ideas or concerns that help improve school life.
Consultation: We provide input on policies and developments that affect students and families.
Community Building: We aim to foster a welcoming, supportive atmosphere for both parents and students.
Get Involved:
We meet a couple of times during the school year and always welcome new members. Whether you can offer time, ideas, or simply wish to stay informed, your involvement—big or small—can make a real difference.
If you’re interested in joining the Parents’ Council or would like more information, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. You can reach me directly in 086 8212851 or leave your name and number with the school office and you will be added to our WhatsApp group.
Wishing your child every success in their first year and beyond.
Warm regards,
Pamela Cassidy
